On 31 July 2025, Her Excellency Yan Jiarong, Chinese Ambassador to The Bahamas, attended and brought remarks at the Calligraphy event held by the Bahamas China Friendship Association (BCFA). Dr. Moxey, President of BCFA, and hundreds of Bahamian friends from all walks of life interested in Chinese culture attended.
Ambassador Yan emphasized that Chinese calligraphy is a unique artistic expression of Chinese culture. She expressed the hope that calligraphy could serve as a bridge to strengthen cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and The Bahamas, thereby continuously promoting mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples. Ambassador Yan encouraged the Bahamian people to learn Chinese, explore China, and promote China-Bahamas friendship.
The Bahamian people enthusiastically learned calligraphy, spoke Mandarin, and sang Chinese songs, immersing themselves in Chinese culture. They also actively participated in a Q&A session organized by the Chinese Embassy. The atmosphere was warm and friendly.
Ambassador Yan and several Bahamian people were interviewed by the national TV station ZNS, which reported the event vividly along with other mainstream Bahamian media.
