Chinese Embassy in Namibia Hosts Reception Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People's War Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War and Celebrating the 98th Anniversary of the Founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army

On July 30, the Chinese Embassy in Namibia hosted an reception commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People's War Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War and celebrating the 98th Anniversary of the Founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA). About 300 guests attended, including the Minister of Information and Communication Technology, the Secretary General of the SWAPO Party, the Deputy Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs, other high-level Namibian officials and representatives from various sectors of Namibian society.

Ambassador Zhao Weiping and Defence Attaché Colonel Li Shujun delivered remarks respectively, outlining the historic significance of the Chinese People's War Against Japanese Aggression and its vital contribution to the world anti-fascist war, highlighting the PLA's achievements and core missions, underscoring that President Xi Jinping's vision of forging a community with a shared future for humanity has charted the course for human progress, affirming China's commitment to collaborate with all nations in resolutely upholding the outeomes of World War II and advancing global peace and stability.

Deputy Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs of Namibia, Hon. Charles Mubita delivered his remarks commending the immense sacrifices made by the Chinese people for world peace, thanking China's support for Namibia's and other African countries' struggles for national independence and expressing hope for continuous strengthening of bilateral military cooperation between Namibia and China.
