On August 15, the Chinese Embassy in South Sudan held a send-off ceremony for recipients of the 2025 Chinese Government Scholarship set to study in China. Ambassador Ma Qiang attended and delivered remarks. The event was attended by the South Sudanese awardees, their parents and relatives, and representatives from the South Sudan-China Alumni Association.
Ambassador Ma congratulated the students. He encouraged them to learn knowledge and skills well, familiarize themselves with Chinese culture, abide by Chinese laws, and make more Chinese friends during their studies in China. He hopes them to act as envoys of China-South Sudan friendship and build bridges connecting the hearts of the two peoples.
The atmosphere at the ceremony was warm and enthusiastic. The students expressed their gratitude to the Chinese government for providing them with this life-changing opportunity. They pledged to study hard, master knowledge, enhance their capabilities, and return to South Sudan after completing their studies to serve their country and become ambassadors of China-South Sudan friendship. Parents and relatives of the students stated that China is a great nation, and that "looking to the East" and "looking to China" have become a major trend. They hoped their children would make the best of their time, acquire practical knowledge and skills, and contribute positively to national development and South Sudan-China friendship.
