On August 15, the Chinese Embassy in Tanzania hosted opening ceremony of the Documentary Photo Exhibition in Commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War at the National Museum of Tanzania. Chinese Ambassador H.E. Chen Mingjian, Tanzanian Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism Hon. Amb. Dr. Pindi Chana, Director General of the National Museum Dr. Noel Lwoga, and over 200 people from various sectors attended the event and visited the exhibition.

Amb. Chen stated in her remarks that through 14 years of tenacious and bloody resistance, the Chinese people achieved a great victory in the war against Japanese aggression, making indelible contributions to the eventual victory of the World Anti-Fascist War. China and Africa forged profound friendship in their shared pursuit of national independence and liberation. We should learn from history, firmly implement the community with a shared future for humanity, and defend the victorious outcome of WWII and international fairness and justice.

Minister Chana remarked that the photo exhibition commemorating 80th anniversary of the victory of Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, World Anti-Fascist War and Taiwan’s restoration to China demonstrates that horrors of war must never return. Tanzania and China should work together to enhance cooperation and safeguard peace.

The exhibition opens to the public in Tanzania until September 5.
