Chinese Ambassador to Australia Xiao Qian Attends the Australia-China Economic Trade and Investment Expo 2025

On August 14, Ambassador Xiao Qian was invited to address the main forum of  the Australia-China Economic Trade and Investment Expo 2025 (ACETIE 2025) in Melbourne, co-hosted by Australia China Business Council (ACBC) and China Chamber of Commerce in Australia (CCCA). Government officials and business leaders including The Hon Andrew Robb AO, Former Australia Minister for Trade and Investment, and The Hon Danny Pearson, Victorian Minister for Finance attended the event.

In his keynote speech, Ambassador Xiao briefed the China-Australia relations and bilateral economic and trade cooperation and highlighted the bright future of China’s economy. Ambassador Xiao Qian pointed out that under the strategic guidance of our two leaders, China-Australia relations have emerged from a low point and regained positive momentum. Mutually-beneficial cooperation is the defining feature of China-Australia relations and economic and trade ties serve as the ballast. For further deepening China-Australia economic and trade cooperation, Ambassador Xiao put forward four observations. First, consolidate cooperation in traditional sectors; Second, expand cooperation in emerging industries; Third, deepen cooperation in the consumer sectors; Fourth, uphold the global free trade system.

After the event, Ambassador Xiao visited the exhibition area to learn about the participation of companies and interact with them.
