Chinese Embassy in The Gambia and the Gambia Armed Forces Host the First China Gambia Military Bantaba

On 21rd August, the Chinese Embassy in The Gambia, together with the Gambia Armed Forces, hosted at the Gambia Armed Forces Training School the first ever China Gambia Military Bantaba. Charge d’Affaires a.i Zhao Shangsen, Deputy Chief of Defence Staff Major General Ousman Gomez, Director of Training Lieutenant Colonel Samba Baldeh, GAFTS Commandant Major Abdoulie Secka, and attendees of past and upcoming China Training Programs were among GAF officers present.

H.E. Zhao Shangsen and Major General Ousman Gomez, together with officers attending the event, had a tour of a photo exhibition commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. In his remarks, Zhao recollected the China’s 14-year-blood-struggle against Japanese aggression, emphasized that the whole world should jointly safeguard the post-war international system and order, jointly promote peace, seek common development, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. 

Major General Ousman Gomez highly praised the journey of the Chinese people in achieving national independence and national development after 14 years of arduous resistance against Japanese aggression. He encouraged officers going to China to serve their country and make more contributions to the friendship between China and The Gambia.
