On August 21, Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Yu Dunhai met with Mr. Mohammed Malick Fall, the United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria. 

Ambassador Yu said that China is a founding member of the United Nations and a permanent member of the Security Council, and has always been a firm supporter and contributor to the cause of the United Nations. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations and the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. We should learn from history to create a better future, jointly safeguard the fruits of victory in World War II, firmly uphold the international system with the United Nations at its core, practice true multilateralism, and unswervingly follow the path of peaceful development. China is willing to strengthen coordination with UN agencies in Nigeria to form synergy, and support Nigeria to achieve economic and social development.

Mr. Malick appreciated China's consistent and firm support for the cause of the United Nations. He spoke highly of the remarkable development achievements China has made in recent years and looks forward to strengthening cooperation with China.
