Chinese Consulate General in Brisbane Hosts Reception Celebrating the 76th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China

On 15 September 2025, the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Brisbane hosted the reception to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China in Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. Consul-General Dr Ruan Zongze, Hon Rosslyn Bates MP, Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training of Queensland, Mrs Charis Mullen MP, Shadow Minister for Multicultural Affairs and Minister for Public Works of Queensland, Cr Steven Huang, Deputy Chair of Brisbane City Council, Mr Michael Ma, President of Queensland Chinese United Council attended and delivered speeches. Deputy Consul-General Yang Chenqi presided over the reception. Deputy Consul-General Li Suyun and about 350 representatives from all walks of life of Queensland participated.

Dr Ruan reflected on the achievements of China’s modernization, underlined the profound historical significance of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, promoted the Global Governance Initiative and highlighted China’s contributions for global poverty reduction. Dr Ruan encouraged both sides to forge ahead in the cause of China-Queenland cooperation and promote the steady and long-term development of China-Australia relations.

The guests extended their heartfelt congratulations on the 76th anniversary of the founding of the PRC, expressed confidence in China’s continuous development, and looked forward to new progress in bilateral relations.

The reception also featured videos showcasing China’s modernization, as well as vibrant musical and dance performances by young artists. The atmosphere throughout the event was warm and convivial.
