Chinese Consul General in San Francisco Zhang Jianmin Holds Media Briefing

On September 23, Chinese Consul General in San Francisco Zhang Jianmin gave a media briefing and hosted an accompanying photo exhibition marking the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The event highlighted China’s development achievements over the past 76 years and presented China’s position on China–US relations. Nearly 20 representatives from the media and think tanks attended.

Consul General Zhang stated that since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the Communist Party of China has led the Chinese people in forging a path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, achieving the two miracles of rapid economic growth and long-term social stability. China has historically eradicated absolute poverty and continued to contribute Chinese strength and wisdom to global governance. China recently hosted the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Tianjin and proposed the Global Governance Initiative, making new contributions to world peace and development.

Consul General Zhang reiterated that China and the United States are fully capable of helping each other succeed and prospering together for the good of the two countries and the whole world. The two countries need to make joint efforts to achieve mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation, strengthen exchanges in various fields, and enhance mutual understanding and trust.
