Chinese Ambassador to Malta Zhang Zuo Arrives in Malta

Ambassador Zhang Zuo, the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Malta, arrived in Malta on September 25, 2025 to assume office.

Upon arrival, Ambassador Zhang and his wife Mme. Yang Yuanchun were greeted by representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tourism of Malta and senior diplomats from the Chinese Embassy.

Ambassador Zhang expressed that he was honored to be appointed as the Chinese Ambassador to Malta. Over the 53 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China-Malta ties have withstood the test of changing international circumstances, maintaining healthy and stable development. The traditional friendship between the two countries has been continuously deepened, and practical cooperation across various fields has yielded fruitful results, setting an example for relationships between countries of different sizes, social systems, and historical and cultural backgrounds. As the new Ambassador to Malta, Ambassador Zhang looks forward to working with the Maltese side to implement the important common understandings reached by the leaders of both countries, advance friendly cooperation in all areas, deliver greater benefits to the peoples of both nations, and jointly write a new chapter in bilateral relations.

The Maltese representatives extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Zhang on assuming his new post. They stated that Malta highly values its relations with China and will provide convenience and support for Ambassador Zhang's tenure, injecting new vitality into the traditional friendly relations between Malta and China.
