On September 25, 2025, Ambassador Fan Yong attended the reception held by the Chinese Embassy to celebrate the 76th  anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. About 300 people attended the  reception, including Speaker of Parliament, Minister for State President, Deputy Speaker,Chairperson of Ntlo Ya Dikgosi,Minister of environment and tourism, Minister of Local Government and TraditionalAffairs,  other seniorgovernment  officials, foreign envoys and representatives from all walks of life.

In his speech, Ambassador Fan reviewed China’s social and economic development during its 14th Five-Year Plan and promoted the Global Governance Initiative and the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, and hoped that the people of Botswana can benefit from this policy as soon as possible and promote greater development of the China-Botswana strategic partnership.

On behalf of the Botswana government, Hon. Moeti Mohwasa,  Minister for State President, congratulated China on its National Day, spoke highly of the brilliant development achievements under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, and commended the Global Governance Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping. He reiterated that the Botswana government will unwavering support the One-China policy and look forward to deepening practical cooperation in various fields to promote continuous development of the bilateral relations.
