6 October 2025, Kampala — Chinese Ambassador to Uganda, Mr. Zhang Lizhong, met with Dr. Tang Min, head of the 25th Chinese Medical Team to Uganda, and his delegation at the Chinese Embassy in Kampala. Counsellor Wang Jianxun was also present at the meeting.

Ambassador Zhang commended the medical team for her longstanding contributions to serving local Ugandan communities, Chinese nationals, and Chinese enterprises operating in the country, adding that healthcare cooperation constitutes an important part of practical collaboration between China and Uganda.

He encouraged the medical team to carry forward the glorious tradition of their predecessors and continue to uphold the spirit of the Chinese medical teams — characterised by fearless dedication, selfless devotion, saving lives, and boundless love for humanity. He urged them to use their professional excellence to serve more people, strengthen external exchanges and outreach, and enhance publicity of their work.

Ambassador Zhang expressed his hope that through these efforts, the team would make continuous contributions to advancing China–Uganda health cooperation, improving the well-being of the Ugandan people, and deepening the friendship between the peoples of the two nations.

The 25th Chinese Medical Team to Uganda arrived in Uganda on 23rd September 2025, where Counsellor Wang Jianxun, on behalf of the Chinese Embassy, welcomed the team at Entebbe International Airport.
