Chinese Ambassador to Fiji Zhou Jian Attends the Deck Reception of Chinese Naval Hospital Ship Ark Silk Road

On the evening of October 4, the Chinese Naval hospital ship Ark Silk Road held a grand deck reception in Suva Port, Fiji. The event was attended by over 150 guests, including Chinese Ambassador to Fiji H.E. Mr. Zhou Jian, Deputy Prime Minister of Fiji Hon. Mr. Biman Prasad, Defense Minister Hon. Mr. Pio Tikoduadua, Navy Commodore Hon. Mr. Timoci Natuva, diplomats from various countries, as well as representatives from the Chinese community and Chinese enterprises in Fiji.

Ambassador Zhou Jian emphasized in his address that the Ark Silk Road is an ark of life, bringing health and hope to people. It is also an ark of friendship, carrying the close bond between the people of China and Fiji. Furthermore, it is an ark of peace, enhancing cooperation between the Chinese and Fijian Navy and contributing to regional stability. China is willing to work with Fiji to jointly uphold the authority of UNGA Resolution 2758, and defend the outcomes of the victory of World War II and the post-war international order.

Senior Captain Fang Jinsong provided an overview of the medical achievements made by the Ark Silk Road in Fiji and outlined plans for future cooperation. Fijian Defense Minister Pio highly praised the professionalism and dedication of the hospital ship's medical team, acknowledging the significant benefits it has brought to local healthcare.

The reception also featured cultural performances by both sides, creating a warm and lively atmosphere throughout the event.
