On October 14, 2025, H.E. Ambassador Zhang Zuo met Mr. Mario Calleja, Vice President of the Malta-China Friendship Society (MCFS) and Mayor of Maltascala, along with members of the MCFS. They exchanged views on China-Malta cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.

H.E. Ambassador Zhang spoke highly of the MCFS's unremitting efforts and contributions to promoting friendly exchanges between the two peoples and advancing bilateral relations. He expressed hope that the MCFS would continue to uphold the concept of China-Malta friendship, promote the spirit of people-to-people friendship, and play a positive role in deepening friendly exchanges and pragmatic cooperation in various fields, so that the friendship between China and Malta is passed down from generation to generation.

Mr. Calleja introduced the work and development of the MCFS development and thanked the Ambassador and the Embassy for their constant support. The MCFS would continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Embassy, to promote exchanges and cooperation between Malta and China and enhance people-to-people connectivity, and make new contributions to the friendship between the two countries.
