Chinese Mission to the African Union Holds Seminar on “China Supports Africa’s Industrialization : Promoting Green, Coordinated, and Sustainable Development”

On November 6, Mission of China to the African Union and The Centre for Dialogue, Research and Cooperation (CDRC) co-hosted a seminar entitled “China Supports Africa’s Industrialization: Promoting Green, Coordinated, and Sustainable Development” at the Ethiopian News Agency.

Ambassador Jiang Feng, head of the Chinese Mission to the AU,  AUC Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy Ms. Lerato Dorothy Mataboge, Minister Assistant of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology of Ethiopia Dr. Simenew Keskes, Director-General of the Department of Industrial Policy and Regulations of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Mr. Li Liejun attended the event.

About 150 participants were also present, including high-level representatives from the African Export-Import Bank, UNIDO, UNDP, UNESCO, as well as Chinese and African scholars, diplomats from multiple countries, and business leaders. 

Ambassador Jiang Feng noted in his speech that modernization in today’s world should be characterized by peaceful development, mutual benefit, and shared prosperity. He emphasized that China has always been a staunch supporter of Africa’s industrialization, and with joint efforts from both sides, Africa’s dream of industrialization will surely be realized, and China-Africa cooperation will yield even more fruitful results.

Participants engaged in in-depth discussions across four key areas of cooperation — development strategies and planning, new energy development, labor-intensive industries, and the digital economy.
