From November 14 to 20, the Consulate General in Mumbai hosted a photo exhibition on Indian youths visiting China and a briefing on the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee at Somaiya Vidyavihar University. Consul General Qin Jie, Deputy Consul General Wang Awei, Vice Chancellor Ajay Kapoor, members of the Indian delegation visiting China, and representatives of teachers and students attended the opening ceremony.

In his address, Mr. Qin said that China and India are both ancient civilizations and major developing countries, and should move forward hand in hand on the path to modernization. He noted that the photo exhibition is substantial and inspiring, and expressed hope that the students will have the opportunity to experience the real China in all its dimensions on the ground. He pointed out that the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee made strategic plan for China’s development in the next five years. The 15th Five-Year Plan period will lay a more solid foundation for basically realizing socialist modernization by 2035. China is making solid efforts in pursuing high-quality development and expanding high-standard opening up, which will provide new opportunities for China-India cooperation.
Kapoor said that China’s development achievements have attracted worldwide attention, and that he looks forward to strengthening academic exchanges and student exchanges with China to jointly promote India-China friendship.
