On November 19th, H.E. Ambassador Ma Qiang met with Hon. Adut Kiir, Senior Presidential Envoy on Special Programs of South Sudan, exchanging views on bilateral relations and pragmatic cooperation between China and South Sudan.

Ambassador Ma congratulated Adut on assuming her new position. He stated that Chinese President Xi Jinping met South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit during the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation last September, and jointly announced the elevation of China-South Sudan relationship to a strategic partnership. He noted that the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC was recently successfully concluded, with the recommendations for the 15th Five-Year Plan being reviewed and approved. He expressed China's readiness to work with South Sudan to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, and take the implementation of the important outcomes of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC as an opportunity, to jointly advance modernization and build a community with a shared future for humanity.
Adut thanked China for its long-standing support and assistance in various fields of South Sudan, and expressed that South Sudan would like to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with China, deepen high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and bring more benefits to the two peoples.
