On November 18th, Amb. Jiang Feng, Head of the Mission of China to the African Union, met with H.E. Mr. Moses Vilakati ,the AUC Commissioner for Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy, and Sustainable Environment (ARBE), in the presence of Counselor Jiang Changshun, etc. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening China-Africa cooperation and exchanges in agriculture and related fields.  

Amb. Jiang thanked H.E. Vilakati for his strong support to China-AU agricultural cooperation, noting that under the impetus of mechanisms such as the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), China-Africa agricultural cooperation has yielded fruitful results and become a model for South-South cooperation. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of FOCAC. China is willing to work with African countries to deepen cooperation in agricultural development, rural poverty alleviation, food security and other fields, share Chinese experience, and jointly promote Africa's agricultural modernization.

H.E. Vilakati highly praised China's contributions to Africa's agricultural development. He stated that the AU is ready to learn from China's agricultural development path and technologies, and carry out industrial chain cooperation with China in food crops, livestock, blue economy, seed industry and other areas, so as to increase the value of agricultural products, boost employment, and realize the transformation of Africa's agri-food systems.
