Chinese Ambassador to Dominica Chu Maoming Visits the Agriculture Course Garden at Pierre Charles Secondary School

On November 19, H.E. Chu Maoming, Chinese Ambassador to Dominica, led a group of Chinese agriculture experts in Dominica to visit the agriculture course garden at Pierre Charles Secondary School. Joined by Hon. Vince Henderson, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Business, Trade and Energy, the delegation donated some agricultural materials. 

Ambassador Chu, Hon. Henderson and the experts visited agricultural facilities such as greenhouses, exchanged technical details of vegetable nursery with the principle, local agricultural extension station personnel, the local teachers, and both sides expressed that they would carry out in-depth technical cooperation in the future to help the agriculture courses to reach a new level.

Hon. Henderson expressed gratitude to Ambassador Chu and Chinese agriculture experts for their care and material support for the school. He is confident that the agricultural course garden will continue to thrive, benefiting more students. He emphasized that the Chinese agricultural mission has been imparting agricultural techniques across the island and providing vegetable seedlings free of charge, making significant contributions to boosting farmers' incomes and ensuring food security in Dominica.

Ambassador Chu said that students from Pierre Charles Secondary School are welcome to visit and study at the China-Dominica Modern Agricultural Center and Agricultural Science and Technology Complex, so as to continuously improve their level of agricultural technology and practical ability. Subsequently, both sides handed over agricultural materials including seedlings, seeds, flexible water hoses, electric sprayers, stepladders, seedling trays, and drip irrigation tape.
