On January 20, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy in Maldives He Fen attended Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) Brand Reveal Official Event. Minister of Tourism and Environment H.E. Thoriq Ibrahim and Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP Ms. Pek Chuan Gan, were present.

The Brand Reveal of the Maldives Meteorological Service was supported by the Thayyaaru project, funded by the South-South Cooperation Fund of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) and jointly implemented by the UNDP, the Maldivian Ministry of Tourism and Environment, and other departments.

He Fen stated that China has been actively involved in global climate change response efforts and fully supports the Maldives in achieving substantial progress in socio-economic development, ecological environmental protection, and climate adaptation capacity building, promoting deeper cooperation between the two countries in sustainable development and further advancing the building of a China-Maldives community with a shared future.
