On February 3, 2026, the Chinese Embassy in Iceland hosted a “Warm Welcome to 2026 Chinese New Year” event for Overseas Chinese in Iceland, in addition to a Spring Festival Packages distribution ceremony. Nearly fifty representatives of overseas Chinese, Chinese students and faculty in Iceland gathered together to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year. Ambassador He Rulong attended the event and delivered a speech, accompanied by Counselor Yang Jing and Counselor Dai Ke.

Ambassador He extended the festive greetings to overseas Chinese in Iceland and briefed on the development of China and the achievements of China-Iceland bilateral relations in 2025. He highly acknowledged the positive contributions made by overseas Chinese in Iceland in promoting China-Iceland friendship and encouraged everyone to continue serving as a bridge and bond to contribute to the development of China-Iceland relations.

In a warm and lively atmosphere, participants expressed their gratitude for the care and support of the motherland and the embassy, and wished for further development of China-Iceland relations. During the event, attendees also watched a promotional video on the Hainan Free Trade Port, gaining a vivid understanding the vitality of development of Hainan and China. 

Embodying the heart-warming care of the motherland for overseas Chinese, the 2026 Spring Festival Packages were thoughtfully prepared by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Hainan Province, the Hainan Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and the Chinese Embassy in Iceland.
