Chinese Consul General in Brisbane Ruan Zongze Meets with Mayor of Southern Downs Region Cr Melissa Hamilton

On 2 February 2026,Consul-General of the People's Republic of China in Brisbane Dr RUAN Zongze met with Mayor of Southern Downs Region,Cr Melissa Hamilton at Southern Downs Regional Council in Queensland,Australia.

Dr RUAN highlighted China's economic development and poverty alleviation achievements.He outlined the 15th Five-Year Plan, expressing readiness to further promote practical China-Australia subnational cooperation and exchanges.

Cr Melissa Hamilton said she has traveled to China several times and witnessed its development firsthand. She hopes to keep in touch with Consulate-General on cooperation with China.
