China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office at Geneva and Other International Organizations in Switzerland Ambassador Jia Guide Meets with H.E. Mr. Luigi Maria Vignali, Permanent Representative of Italy

On February 3, 2026, H.E. Ambassador Jia Guide, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other international organizations in Switzerland, met with H.E. Ambassador Mr. Luigi Maria Vignali, Permanent Representative of Italy to the UN Office at Geneva.

Ambassador Jia said that both China and Italy are ancient civilizations, and the bilateral relations are mature and stable. Under the strategic guidance of the two countries’ leaders, the China-Italy comprehensive strategic partnership has reached a new level. Faced with the profound changes unseen in a century, China will further implement the four global initiatives, and stands ready to strengthen communication and cooperation with Italy at the multilateral platform of Geneva to jointly uphold multilateralism.

Ambassador Vignali spoke highly of the contributions made by Ambassador Jia to China-Italy friendship during his tenure as Chinese Ambassador to Italy, noting that Italy has always regarded China as an important cooperation partner. Italy is willing to strengthen multilateral cooperation with China, jointly safeguard multilateralism, and contribute the wisdom of the two great civilizations of China and Italy to global governance.
