On 27 February, Ambassador Zhao Xiyuan attended the inauguration ceremony of the International College of Electronic Information Engineering jointly established by Dublin City University and Hangzhou Dianzi University. Paul McAuliffe TD, Professor Daire Keogh, President of Dublin City University and Vice President Charlotte Holland, as well as representatives of Chinese students were present at the event.

In his remarks, Ambassador Zhao extended warm congratulations on the official inauguration of the International College of Electronic and Information Engineering. He noted that educational cooperation has always been one of the most vivid manifestations of the friendship between China and Ireland. The official visit to China by Taoiseach Micheál Martin in January fully demonstrated the strong commitment of both sides to further deepening bilateral relations. As the 12th China-Ireland jointly established educational institution, the College represents another important achievement in the growing educational cooperation between the two countries and reflects the sound momentum of mutual trust, mutual benefit and win-win cooperation in the field of higher education.
Counsellor Liu Yan and First Secretary Zhu Xikun of the Embassy accompanied Ambassador Zhao at the event.
