Chinese Consul General in Perth Fu Lihua Attends Gosnells City Chinese New Year Celebration

On March1, 2026, Consul General Fu Lihua attended the Chinese New Year Celebration in the city of Gosnells and delivered a speech. Ms. Colleen Egan MLA, representing Dr. Tony Buti, State Minister for Multicultural Interests, Hon. Pierre Yang MLC, Ms. Terresa Lynes, Mayor of the City of Gosnells, Andy Yuan, President of Chung Wah Association, councilors and leaders of the Chinese Association of Gosnells, and representatives from various ethnic communities of around 200 people were present.

Consul General Fu extended New Year greetings to the Chinese community, expressing her happiness to see them integrate into local community, connect China and WA, and promote Chinese culture. She hoped that the Chinese community would continue to take active steps in deepening people-to-people friendship between China and WA, thereby advancing WA's economic and social development and its multicultural construction, and assisting in the progress of China-WA friendly cooperation.

Ms. Egan, Ms. Lynes and others conveyed their New Year greetings to the Chinese community, saying that the profound Chinese culture has enriched the culture of WA, and that the Chinese community is an important component of Western Australia's multicultural society, and the WA state Government and the City of Gosnells will continue to support and encourage the development of the Chinese community.
