On March 23, 2026, the Flagging-off Ceremony for the Distribution of Primary School Textbooks was held in Juba. H.E. Amb. MA Qiang attended the event and addressed the attendees together with Hon. Kuyok Abol Kuyok, Minister of General Education and Instruction, and Ms. Noala Skinner, UNICEF Representative to South Sudan.

H.E. Amb. MA Qiang emphasized that the Chinese Government always regards the educational cooperation as one of the important sectors of the friendly cooperation the two countries. The Chinese Government and people will work together with South Sudan to implement the “Ten Partnership Actions” of the FOCAC and the various initiatives of the “2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges”, empowering youth through education and promoting development through cooperation, jointly advancing toward the goal of building a community with a shared future for humanity.

The textbooks distributed this time were provided under the Phase Ⅱ of China-aided Technical Cooperation Project of Education in South Sudan. This textbooks distribution will provide valuable learning resources for South Sudanese children, ensure the continuity and high quality of general education, and promote educational equity.
