On April 14, 2026, Ms. Wang Xiaolin, spouse of Ambassador Li Song, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Vienna, hosted a cultural event celebrating 2026 Vienna UN Chinese Language Day. Female ambassadors, spouses of ambassadors and diplomats from various countries, as well as Austrian local friends were invited to attend the event.

Themed “Experiencing the Palace Museum at the Permanent Mission of China in Vienna,” the event featured blue-and-white porcelain, one of the most representative treasures from the Palace Museum collection. Through the elegant beauty of blue-and-white porcelain and the melodious charm of traditional Chinese folk music, the event conveyed the traditional Chinese philosophy of harmony and balance, as well as the ideal of “beauty in diversity.” It aimed to promote deeper mutual learning and exchanges on the Vienna-based multilateral platform through cultural engagement.

Guests enjoyed performances of traditional Chinese music, listened to an introduction on the historical development and aesthetic features of blue-and-white porcelain, and took part in a DIY porcelain plate painting activity. Through hands-on experience, they gained a vivid appreciation of the craftsmanship and artistic essence of traditional Chinese culture, and developed a deeper understanding of its rich heritage in an immersive setting. Participants also engaged in close interaction with two cutting-edge humanoid robots from China.
