Updated: May 12, 2026 02:50(From Chinese Embassy in Sweden)

On May 8, 2026, Ambassador Zhou Limin attended the working lunch hosted by the Sweden-China Trade Council (SCTC) and delivered a keynote speech. Mr. Ulf Pehrsson, Chairman of the SCTC, Ms. Kang Wen, the Embassy’s counselor in charge of economic and commercial affairs, as well as more than 60 executives from Swedish and Chinese enterprises attended the event.

Ambassador Zhou elaborated on the development opportunities brought by China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, and shared his observations and reflections on China-Sweden relations since assuming office. He noted that the common interests between the two countries outweigh their differences, and that cooperation should define the tone of bilateral ties. He expressed hope that both sides will work in the same direction, properly handle the relationships between economy and politics, opportunities and risks, and the primary and the secondary, and strengthen practical cooperation, thereby turning China and Sweden into the first example of mutual success between countries with different civilizations, systems, and stages of development.

Chairman Pehrsson noted that China has evolved from a manufacturing and export base into an innovation hub, and effectively facilitated Swedish companies’ integration into China’s industrial, supply and innovation chains. He added that the future of bilateral economic and trade cooperation looks promising.

During the working lunch, Ambassador Zhou also answered questions raised by representatives of participating companies.
