On June 17, H.E. Mr. Shen Bo, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, paid a visit to the Amsterdam headquarters of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and met with Ms. Marjan Rintel, President and CEO of the company. The two sides exchanged views on issues of common concern, including KLM's business development in China and China-Netherlands as well as China-EU economic and trade relations.

Ambassador Shen introduced China's 15th Five-Year Plan and noted that China will continue to advance high-level opening-up. As one of the most internationalized sectors, the aviation industry cannot achieve development without an open market environment, stable international supply chains and a close cross-border collaboration network. He welcomed KLM to further deepen its presence in the Chinese market and share in China's development opportunities, and expressed the hope that KLM will remain a rational voice advocating mutual benefit and win-win outcomes, and play a positive and constructive role in China-Netherlands and China-EU cooperation.

Ms. Rintel stated that KLM is optimistic about China's economic development prospects and vast market potential. The airline will continue to expand its business footprint in China and stands ready to deepen practical cooperation with the Chinese side in areas such as green aviation and sustainable aviation fuel.
