Chinese Consul General in Cape Town Ren Faqiang Delivers Lecture to Participants of Public Policy and Leadership Africa (PPLA) Executive Programme

On August 19, 2026, Ren Faqiang, Chinese Consul General in Cape Town, was invited to the University of Cape Town to deliver a lecture to participants of the Public Policy and Leadership Africa (PPLA) Executive Programme.

Consul General Ren introduced China's Africa policy, stating that China has always attached great diplomatic importance to Africa. Upholding the principles of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith in its policy toward Africa, and leveraging the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), the Belt and Road Initiative and zero‑tariff treatment for African countries, China has fostered China‑Africa friendship and deepened practical cooperation, yielding fruitful outcomes. It has empowered Africa’s economic development and benefited African people with tangible dividends from opening‑up.

Participants in the PPLA Executive Programme come from multiple African countries.
