On 22 September, the launching ceremony of Somalia-China Youth Center for Friendship and Cooperation was held at the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Federal Republic of Somalia. H.E. Wang Yu, Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, H.E. Mohamed Abdikadir Ali, Minister of Youth and Sports attended the ceremony. 

Ambassador Wang Yu extended warm congratulations on the launching of the Center. He stated that 2026 marks the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges, and the hope of long-term friendship between the Chinese and African people rests with the younger generation.China stands ready to work with Somalia, to foster exchanges and mutual learningamong the youth of two countries, carry forward the traditional friendship, and contribute to the further development of China-Somalia relations.

Minister Ali stated that the launching of the Center marks a meaningful and tangible step in deepening Somalia-China friendly cooperation. The Ministry of Youth and Sports is committed to strengthening youth cooperation between Somalia and China, and developing the Center into a symbol of the friendship between the two countries.
