Peng Liyuan and Polish President's Wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda Visit China's National Center for the Performing Arts

On the afternoon of June 24, 2024, President Xi Jinping's wife Peng Liyuan and Polish President Andrzej Duda's wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda, who is accompanying the Polish President on his state visit to China, visited China's National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA).

The wives of the two heads of state toured the facilities of the NCPA, and enjoyed a special exhibition on the Beijing's Eight Imperial Handicrafts that showcases intangible cultural heritage artworks. Peng Liyuan said both China and Poland boast a long history and profound cultural traditions, and the people-to-people and cultural exchanges between the two sides have become increasingly active in recent years. She expressed her belief that with China-Poland cultural exchanges and mutual learning constantly enriched, the mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples will grow deeper.

Peng Liyuan invited Agata Kornhauser-Duda to enjoy performances of traditional Chinese folk music, excerpts of Peking Opera, piano compositions from both countries, and a chorus of Chinese and foreign songs. Agata Kornhauser-Duda sincerely thanked Peng Liyuan for her warm and friendly reception and thoughtful arrangements, praised the wonderful performances by Chinese artists, and gave them warm applause from time to time. Agata Kornhauser-Duda said she was deeply impressed by the richness and depth of the traditional Chinese culture, and looked forward to enhanced exchanges and cooperation between the two countries and  deepened friendship between the two peoples.
