On July 15, 2025, Vice President Han Zheng met with Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) Dimitri Kerkentzes in Beijing.

Han Zheng noted that President Xi Jinping attaches great importance to China's participation in BIE and the World Expo affairs. The World Expo has been reinvigorated amidst the changes of the times since its establishment over 170 years ago, and it currently places greater emphasis on sci-tech and cultural exchanges, which is of significant importance. With the support of the BIE, China successfully hosted the 2010 Shanghai World Expo and the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition, and it has participated in 17 comprehensive and specialized World Expos overseas. China will continue to strengthen cooperation with the BIE, actively participate in future World Expos, and support and promote the prosperous development of the World Expo cause.

Dimitri Kerkentzes highly appreciated China's participation in the work of the BIE and World Expos, fully acknowledged the wonderful presentation of the China Pavilion at the Osaka Expo, and expressed that the BIE will continue to strongly support China's participation in the World Expo undertakings and looks forward to China's extraordinary presentations at various World Expos.
