On September 2, 2025, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee Cai Qi met in Beijing with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, who is in China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit 2025 and events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
Cai Qi stated that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Aleksandr Lukashenko, China-Belarus relations have maintained rapid development. President Xi Jinping and President Aleksandr Lukashenko held a fruitful meeting two days ago, injecting new impetus into the development of China-Belarus relations. China is willing to work with Belarus to take the important common understandings reached by the two heads of state as the fundamental guideline, consolidate political mutual trust, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and strengthen inter-party exchanges, enhance international collaboration, and continuously enrich bilateral relations.
Aleksandr Lukashenko stated that China is a pillar in safeguarding world peace and stability, and Belarus firmly supports the Global Governance Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, which is of vital importance to promoting the development of a more just and equitable global governance system. Belarus will continue to be a trustworthy friend and partner with China.
