On October 26, 2025 local time, at the invitation of the government of the Republic of Seychelles, President Xi Jinping's special envoy and Vice Chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Gao Yunlong attended the inauguration of President Patrick Herminie in Victoria, the capital of Seychelles. On October 27, President Patrick Herminie met with Gao Yunlong in Victoria.

Gao Yunlong conveyed President Xi Jinping's cordial greetings and best wishes to President Patrick Herminie. He said that China attaches great importance to the development of China-Seychelles relations and is ready to work with Seychelles to take the implementation of the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation as an opportunity to translate the friendship between the two countries into more cooperation outcomes that deliver greater benefits to the two peoples, and to elevate the China-Seychelles strategic partnership to a new level.

Patrick Herminie asked Gao Yunlong to convey his sincere greetings and best wishes to President Xi Jinping. He highly commended the series of global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping. Patrick Herminie said that Seychelles and China enjoy a traditional friendship. Seychelles will continue to firmly uphold the one-China principle, and deepen practical cooperation with China within the frameworks including the Belt and Road Initiative, so as to achieve greater development in bilateral relations.
