Xi Jinping Arrives in Paris to Attend the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris

On November 29 local time, President Xi Jinping arrived in Paris, the capital of France, to attend the opening events of the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris at the invitation of President Francois Hollande of France and President-Designate of the conference Laurent Fabius.

At around 3:30 pm local time, Xi Jinping arrived at the Paris Orly Airport by special plane. Xi Jinping and his wife, Mme. Peng Liyuan stepped out of the cabin door and received warm greetings from senior officials of the French government.

Wang Huning, Li Zhanshu, Yang Jiechi and other delegation members arrived by the same plane.

H.E. Zhai Jun, Chinese Ambassador to France, also greeted them at the airport.

The full name of the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris is the twenty-first session of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the eleventh session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP), which will take place from November 30 to December 11 in Paris.

After attending the opening events of the conference, Xi Jinping will also pay state visits to Zimbabwe and South Africa, and chair the FOCAC Summit in Johannesburg of South Africa.
