The Minister

His Excellency Wang Yi, Han ethnicity, a native of Beijing, was born in October 1953. He began his first job in September 1969, and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in May 1981. He graduated from an undergraduate program at the Department of Asian and African Languages of Beijing Second Foreign Languages Institute. He holds a Master of Economics degree.

H.E. Wang Yi is currently a Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

We work vigorously to advance the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, and to write new chapters for the cause of human development and progress with our steady contributions.

On the new journey of building a great country and pursuing national rejuvenation,we will rally closely around the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, and follow the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, especially Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy. We will stay committed to the independent foreign policy of peace, deepen and expand global partnerships, seek win-win cooperation with all countries, engage actively in the global governance system reform, firmly defend China’s sovereignty, security and development interests, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens and legal persons overseas. We will always bear in mind the interests of the whole world, conduct diplomacy with vigor and determination, uphold fundamental principles, seek to break new ground, and forge ahead with fortitude to make constant strides in China’s distinctive major-country diplomacy.
