Main Functions: The Department develops diplomatic policies concerning the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), the Macao SAR and the Taiwan region, reports on and coordinates related diplomatic affairs, guides the operation of the offices of the commissioners of the Ministry in the Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR, and manages the participation of unofficial mainland organizations in international conferences and activities in Taiwan.
