
On October 23, 2019, Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Wang Xiaolong attended the activity in commemoration of the 74th United Nations (UN) Day organized by the UN Entities in China, and addressed the function.
Wang Xiaolong extended warm congratulations on the 74th anniversary of the founding of the UN and spoke positively of the work of the UN in China over the past 40 years. Wang Xiaolong briefed on China's remarkable achievements in development since the founding of the People's Republic of China 70 years ago and China's diplomatic philosophy. He stressed, China will continue to firmly maintain the international system with the UN as the core, adhere to international fairness and justice, always be a builder of the world peace, a contributor to global development and a defender of international order, actively support the UN's work, and strengthen cooperation with the UN and its entities in China. China will fully implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and work with all parties to promote the building of a new type of international relations and a community with a shared future for mankind.
UN Resident Coordinator in China Nicholas Rosellini reviewed the work of the UN in China over the past 40 years, spoke highly of China's development achievements and expressed the willingness to continue to push forward cooperation with China in various fields in the new era and make contributions to China's high-quality development.
About 1,500 representatives from relevant Chinese departments, the UN in China and diplomatic envoys from relevant countries to China were present at the event.
