Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu Attends the First Coordinators' Meeting for G20 Rome Summit

From January 21 to 22, 2021, Chinese coordinator for the Group of Twenty (G20) affairs and Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu attended the First Coordinators' Meeting for G20 Rome Summit via video link. Special Envoy on G20 Affairs and Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Wang Xiaolong attended the meeting.

Ma Zhaoxu said, this year is very crucial for the global fight against COVID-19 and economic recovery. As an important forum of international economic cooperation, the G20 should uphold its duties and responsibilities, carry forward multilateralism, enhance policy coordination, deepen all-round cooperation, and push for an early global victory over the pandemic and economic recovery and growth.

The Rome Summit will be held from October 30 to 31, 2021 after Italy took over the G20 presidency on December 1, 2020. Participants of this Coordinators' Meeting exchanged their views on the G20's work and prioritized topics of the whole year, launching the preparation process of the Summit this year.
