On March 23, 2009, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met at the Great Hall of the People with foreign delegates to the China Development Forum 2009. Wen listened to the delegates’ views and proposals on the world economic situation, especially on China’s policies and measures to deal with the global financial crisis, and answered relevant questions.

Wen said China is comprehensively implementing the package plan to expand domestic consumption and promote economic growth. It will try its best to achieve the goal of eight-percent economic growth set for this year, according to Wen. "China can't achieve self-development without rest of the world," the Premier said, adding that China hopes to deliver confidence to the world and the world should have faith in the country. "Only when each nation takes effective stimulus measures together can the world economy step out of difficulty and realize resuscitation," Wen said.
