On April 30, 2009, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Jieyi at request met with Ms. Sylvie Lucas, President of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and Permanent Representative of Luxemburg to the United Nations. Both sides exchanged views on such issues as financing for development, the reform of the United Nations (UN) and the UN's role in coping with the financial crisis.
