On June 7, 2016, Vice Foreign Minister Li Baodong met with UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations Herve Ladsous.

Li Baodong expressed that China strongly condemns the recent terrorist attack targeting the UN peacekeeping mission camp in Mali. It is hoped that the UN can properly deal with the follow-up work, investigate the incident as soon as possible and take practical measures to strengthen security assurance for the UN peacekeeping mission in Mali and other UN peacekeeping operations. China will continue to devote itself to supporting and participating in UN peacekeeping operations.

Both sides also exchanged views on the implementation of outcomes yielded from the UN Peacekeeping Summit, reform on UN peacekeeping operations as well as other topics.
