On August 22, 2018, Assistant Foreign Minister Zhang Jun visited the Office of United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator in China and the Ghanaian Embassy in China to offer condolences to former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan. Assistant Foreign Minister Zhang Jun said to UN Resident Coordinator in China Nicholas Rosellini and Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the Ghanaian Embassy in China Charles Dwamena that the Chinese side extends profound condolences to the death of former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan and remembers Kofi Annan’s contributions to promoting cooperation between China and the UN. Assistant Foreign Minister Zhang Jun also left a message on the condolence book. Nicholas Rosellini and Charles Dwamena thanked Assistant Foreign Minister Zhang Jun for paying condolences on behalf of the Chinese government.
