On the evening of June 8, 2026 local time, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan, accompanied by General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un and his wife Ri Sol Ju, watched an artistic performance together with people from various sectors of the DPRK at the Pyongyang Gymnasium.

At around 9:00 p.m., Xi Jinping and Peng Liyuan, together with Kim Jong Un and Ri Sol Ju, ascended to the rostrum of the gymnasium. The audience and performers greeted them with warm applause and enthusiastic cheers to express their welcome and respect.

The performance was passionate and magnificent, reflecting the profound friendship between the Chinese and DPRK peoples. Through songs, dances, acrobatics and other artistic forms, the performers extended a warm welcome to Xi Jinping on his return visit to the DPRK after seven years and expressed their sincere hope for consolidating and developing the traditional friendship and cooperation between China and the DPRK. Familiar songs such as “My Motherland and Me”, “Jasmine Flower” and “Red Flag Fluttering” resonated strongly with the audience and drew repeated rounds of applause.
