On June 18, 2021, Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang was invited to the Queen's Birthday Party held by the British Embassy in China and delivered a speech.
Noting that China-UK relations have made considerable progress which should be cherished with special care in his speech, Qin Gang said, both sides should effectively follow the important guidelines of the two leaders and drive the healthy and stable development of China-UK relations in the spirit of mutual respect and mutually beneficial cooperation. At a time when global challenges are being intertwined and piling up, the international community needs more than ever strengthened coordination. China and the UK are both founding members of the United Nations and permanent members of the Security Council. The relations between the two countries are far more significant than bilateral relations only but have crucial international influences. The two countries should work together to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, tackle climate change, defend true multilateralism and make a greater contribution to world peace, security and prosperity.
Qin Gang also exchanged views with British Ambassador to China Caroline Wilson on China-UK relations.
