On the evening of February 22, 2021, President Xi Jinping had a phone conversation with Egyptian President Abdul Fatah Al-Sisi.

Xi Jinping emphasized, Egypt is the first African country and the first Arab state to establish diplomatic relations with China, and China-Egypt relations have become an exemplar of solidarity and win-win cooperation between China and Arab states as well as Africa. China always takes Egypt as a priority in its diplomacy, and it is the trustworthy friend and partner of Egypt. China supports Egypt's efforts to uphold national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and supports its people in pursuing a development path that suits to its national conditions. China stands ready to work with Egypt to consolidate political mutual trust, show firm support for each other, strengthen coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs, and jointly safeguard multilateralism and international equity and justice. Since the COVID-19 broke out, China and Egypt have provided emergency supplies for each other, which fully demonstrates our true friendship in time of adversity. China will work with Egypt in strengthening vaccine cooperation, support the international community in jointly fighting against the virus, and promote the building of a global community of health for all.

Xi Jinping pointed out, China-Egypt practical cooperation has been developing with a good momentum despite the pandemic. Our major cooperative projects are advancing orderly, and our cooperation in law enforcement security, space and other fields has made steady progress. China and Egypt need to strengthen the synergy of development strategies, and jointly build the Belt and Road. China will support more Chinese companies to invest in Egypt, and expand cooperation in infrastructure construction, production capacity, and technology, lifting the comprehensive strategic partnership to a higher level.

Sisi congratulated on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. He said, this year marks the 65th anniversary of Egypt-China diplomatic relations. Egypt and China have a profound traditional friendship, and solid and friendly relations. Their close cooperation in international affairs has brought benefits to the two peoples. Egypt firmly supports China's principled position on issues related to Hong Kong, Xinjiang and Taiwan, supports China's efforts to uphold national sovereignty, security, and unity, and firmly opposes any interference in China's internal affairs under the pretext of human rights. Egypt welcomes more Chinese companies to Egypt for investment and cooperation, and it will work with China to elevate the Egypt-China comprehensive strategic partnership. Egypt thanks China's valuable support for Africa and other developing countries in fighting against the virus, and it is willing to work with China to strengthen vaccine cooperation.
