On August 21, 2025 local time, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari met with Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Islamabad.
Asif Ali Zardari asked Wang Yi to convey his cordial greetings and express his highest respect to President Xi Jinping. Pakistan-China friendship has stood the test of time, and the two countries are all-weather good friends and good partners. The world is facing risks and challenges, but China is courageous to face up to them, oppose bullying practices, and firmly safeguard its own interests and the common interests of developing countries. Regardless of changing circumstances, Pakistan places full trust in China and stands unwaveringly with China. The Pakistani side thanked China for its selfless assistance for Pakistan's social and economic development, and expressed willingness to promote new progress in cooperation projects such as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and Gwadar Port, to better benefit the people of both countries. Asif Ali Zardari expressed hope that the two countries will continue to enhance coordination and cooperation on major international and regional issues, so as to jointly maintain regional peace, stability, prosperity and development.

China will continue to support Pakistan's efforts to safeguard its sovereignty, territorial integrity and national dignity. During the visit, Wang Yi also met with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistani Chief of the Army Staff Syed Asim Munir, and held the Sixth Round of China-Pakistan Foreign Ministers' Strategic Dialogue with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
