On September 13, 2025 local time, Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob met with Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Ljubljana.

Robert Golob stated that Slovenia and China have long maintained a good cooperative relationship, which serves the interests of both sides. Slovenia adheres to the one-China policy and looks forward to sharing the opportunities brought by China's rapid development, particularly by deepening mutually beneficial cooperation in such areas as energy, automobiles, and pharmaceuticals. Slovenia welcomes Chinese enterprises for investment and cooperation in the country. China's diplomacy is adept at handling complex issues with a long-term perspective, patience, and wisdom. Slovenia supports multilateralism and the role of the United Nations (U.N.), and opposes double standards. Slovenia is willing to continue strengthening multilateral coordination with China in the U.N. Security Council and other arenas, and looks forward to China's greater role in promoting the peaceful settlement of hotspot issues.

Wang Yi stated that the tradition of China's diplomacy is that all countries, big or small, are equal. China highly values the development of relations with Slovenia and appreciates Slovenia's friendly policy towards China. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Slovenia over 30 years ago, bilateral cooperation has yielded fruitful outcomes, benefiting the people of both countries and serving the interests of both sides. China is committed to expanding high-standard opening-up and is willing to work with Slovenia to continuously unleash cooperation potential and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. Both sides should encourage enterprises from the two countries to increase two-way investment and provide them with a fair, friendly, first-class, and predictable business environment.

Wang Yi said that China, as a responsible major country and a permanent member of the U.N. Security Council, is a major force in maintaining world peace and has the best track record among all the major countries in terms of security. China has consistently maintained that war cannot solve problems and sanctions will only complicate them. China insists on resolving international disputes through dialogue and consultation, while never seeking selfish gains or engaging in any sort of bargain. China is willing to work with Slovenia to firmly practice multilateralism, safeguard the purposes and principles of the U.N. Charter, enhance mutual understanding, increase mutual trust, and jointly inject more certainty into a world fraught with changes and turbulence.
