
On November 29, 2019, Assistant Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong attended upon invitation the reception celebrating the 8th anniversary of the establishment of the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations)-China Centre, and addressed the function.
Chen Xiaodong said, ASEAN is a priority in China's neighborhood diplomacy. Premier Li Keqiang and the leaders of the 10 ASEAN countries reached important consensus during the recent successful leaders' meetings on East Asia cooperation, injecting new impetus into the development of bilateral relations. The Chinese side is ready to work with ASEAN to follow the guidance of the China-ASEAN Strategic Partnership Vision 2030 to constantly upgrade cooperation to benefit the peoples of China and ASEAN and make greater contributions to regional development and prosperity. It is hoped that the ASEAN-China Centre will continue to give full play to its unique strengths and make new and greater contributions to building a higher level China-ASEAN strategic partnership.
Secretary-General of the ASEAN-China Centre Chen Dehai and Thai Ambassador to China Arthayudh Srisamoot delivered speeches respectively. Nearly 400 diplomatic envoys of ASEAN countries to China and people from all walks of life were present at the reception.
